Barbara Haywood-Day

Barbara Jean Haywood-Day, of North Kingsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, following a long and courageous battle with several chronic illnesses.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Day; her daughter, Annette Haywood; her granddaughter, Lily Needham; her five siblings, Susan Stark (Richard), Marianne Hadaway (Todd), Donna Mitchell (Dale), Thomas Haywood, and Edward Haywood (Nancy); as well as countless nieces, nephews.

She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Thomas and Geraldine Haywood; her brothers, Timothy and John Haywood; and her son, Rick Heller Jr.

Barbara was a fighter through and through. No matter what life put in her path, nothing could keep her down or dampen her spirit. Even through her hardest days, she was rarely without a smile or a joke. She had a remarkable way of putting everyone else before herself, and the love she had for her family was unmistakable to anyone who knew her.

Affectionately known as "Aunt Snack Wagon," Barbara always had something to give. Whether it was a kind word, some questionable advice, a $20 bill secretly tucked into your pocket, or-as her nickname suggests-any number of assorted snacks, she was always finding a way to take care of the people she loved. If you ever needed or wanted for anything, Barbara would find a way to make it happen for you.

She loved generously, gave freely, and made sure the people around her knew they were cared for. That was simply who Barbara was. Her strength, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held to celebrate the life of Barbara at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 3-7 PM .
