Congetta Cocca

CONGETTA COCCA (nee DeSciscio) age 89, beloved wife of the late Diodoro; loving mother of Angelo (wife Alba); devoted grandmother of Malissa Cocca, and Dr. Christina Cocca (husband James Cocca) and great-grandmother of Giovanni, Nicolo, Siena, and Sofia; cherished daughter of the late Nicola and Filomena (nee Sorianno) DeSciscio; dearest sister of Antonietta Pilla (husband Nicola "Celeste") and Ida Montoni (husband Umberto) and sister-in-law of Nicola Cocca; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Congetta was born on October 25, 1936, in San Marco dei Cavoti, Italy. She later moved to the U.S. with the love of her life Diodoro.

Her family was her biggest joy in life. She loved to spend time and take care of them whenever she could. Often, you would find her sewing dresses for her grandkid's, making blankets, baking cookies, listening to Italian music, and watching a good romantic love story on TV.

Congetta passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026. She will be remembered for her loving, giving, and kind personality. Her warm hugs, contagious laughter, and devotion to her family and faith will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Divine Word Catholic Church 8100 Eagle Rd, Willoughby, OH 44094 at 11:30 AM. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Congetta DEJOHN FUNERAL HOMES & CELEBRATIONS CENTER, 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
