Dennis G. "Denny" Ambrose, age 80, of Chardon, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026. Born on July 20, 1946, in Cleveland, Denny was the cherished son of the late Ira and Esther (nee Houriet) Ambrose.
For 56 wonderful years, Denny was the beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Goga). Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, family, and the home they shared in Chardon for the past 48 years. He was the loving father of Paul (Kim), Dennis (Chasity), and Ginny (Jon), and the devoted grandfather of James, Jenna, Hanna, Nathan, and Mason. He also proudly embraced his special role as "bonus grandfather" to Annalesia, Dylan, and Lauren.
Denny was the dearest brother of the late Anna McMillan, Norma Thompson, Winifred Govze, Kenneth Ambrose, and Helen Green, and a dear uncle and great-uncle to many. His love reached across generations, and his family remained the greatest joy of his life.
Denny attended Eastlake North High School and spent most of his working career as a mechanic. The final 10 years of his career were with First Interstate Properties, where he truly loved his work and the people he worked with. Gifted with his hands and always willing to help, he brought patience, skill, and care to everything he did. Away from work, he found happiness fishing, shooting, and working on his cars.
Denny treasured life's simple moments, especially time spent with family and friends. Whether sharing stories, laughing together, or simply enjoying one another's company, he created memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Selfless and incredibly generous, Denny always put others before himself. Though he was tall in stature, it was the size of his heart and the depth of his care for others that made him truly larger than life. He gave freely of his time, his talents, and his love, leaving those around him feeling supported, valued, and deeply cared for.
Denny will be remembered for his generous spirit, his steadfast devotion to family, and the countless ways he quietly made life better for others. His love will remain a lasting gift to all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who loved and cared for him.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Denny at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.)
