Listen to Obituary

ELIJAH JOHN "ELI" HALVERSTADT passed away suddenly at 6 months old; adored infant son of Timothy and Tiffany (nee Barth) Halverstadt; beloved brother of Alana, Noah, Solomon, and Isaiah Halverstadt; cherished grandson of Dr. Adrian Jr. and Lisa (nee Rea) Halverstadt, and Russell and Kathi (nee Beaver) Barth and great-grandson of Adrian Sr. and Carolyn (nee Glenn) Halverstadt; cherished nephew of Adrian III and Kelly Halverstadt, Joel and Elaina Halverstadt, Sarah Barth, Mona and Michael Shoby, and Zack and Alicia Barton; dear cousin of many.

On April 1, 2026, the Lord blessed our family with the precious gift of Eli. Born on April Fools' Day, his joyful personality seemed perfectly suited for the occasion. Smiling from his very first weeks, Eli filled our home with happiness, laughter, and love.

Although Eli was with us for only six short months, his life was full of joy, adventure, and purpose. He loved being outdoors and experienced so much of God's beautiful creation alongside his family. From hiking and riding in the bike trailer to visiting parks and boating, Eli was always part of the adventure.

One of Eli's greatest joys was being with his siblings, who loved him dearly. He delighted in watching their loud and wild play, and they made sure their little brother was included in the fun. You could often find Eli being held by Alana, playing peek-a-boo with Noah, being tickled by Sunny, or rolling around and being showered with kisses by Izzy. He was deeply loved by each of them, and the bond they shared will always be treasured.

We are reminded through Scripture that our days are known to God even before we take our first breath. Psalm 139:16 assures us that every day of Eli's life was written in God's book before one of them came to be. While we may not understand why his time with us was so brief, we trust in the goodness and sovereignty of our Heavenly Father, who lovingly created Eli and knew every one of his days.

Eli's life was not measured by its length, but by the purpose God gave it and the love he brought into this world. His six months were a precious gift, and his life will continue to shape our family for years to come.

Though we grieve the loss of our sweet boy, we do not grieve without hope. Because of Jesus Christ and His victory over death, we have the blessed assurance of eternal life. We take comfort in knowing that Eli is safe in the arms of his Savior, and we look forward with faith to the day we will be reunited with him in heaven.

We praise God for the gift of being Eli's family, for every smile, every laugh, every adventure, and every moment we were given with him. He was fearfully and wonderfully made, perfectly loved by his Creator, and will forever be cherished by his family.

Jesus hold our perfect Eli until we can hold him again.
