Gerald M. Balash

GERALD M. "Gerry" BALASH, age 77 of Lyndhurst, was called to heaven on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Born May 13, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Charles (Jake) and Rita (Petrasek) Balash. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rebecca "Becky" Balash (nee Jordens); loving step-father of Dale and the late Darin Robertson; grandfather of Randall "Randy" Robertson; great-grandfather of Aiden Robertson; dearest brother of Leonard Balash, MaryJo (Wayne) Habat and the late Jude Balash; dear uncle of many.

Gerry graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School and Hiram College. He was a proud United States Navy veteran where he served as a communications specialist and radioman aboard the USS America - CVA 66 aircraft carrier.

With his extensive knowledge of electronics, he was self employed and excelled at the unique skill of accordion construction and repair.

The family requests no flowers but asks for contributions to be made in memory of Gerry to a charity of your choice that will help animals. A Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 4:00PM at the funeral home. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Gerry at DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) on Sunday July 12, 2026 from 1:00PM until the time of the Celebration of Life Service.
