Ilona M. Schwartz

ILONA M. SCHWARTZ (nee Csontos) age 82, beloved wife for 40 years of the late Harold; loving mother of Steve (wife Adrienne) and Andrew (wife Rebecca) Jager; dear stepmother of Nance Thompson (husband Burt); devoted grandmother of Morgan Cremisi (husband Michael), Michael Thompson (wife Megan), and Joseph and Kaitlyn Jager and great-grandmother to Adler; cherished daughter of the late Lajos and Ilona (nee Varga) Csontos; loving partner to John Toth; dear friend to many.

Ilona was born on July 12, 1944, in Hungary and later emigrated to the U.S. in 1975, where she worked as a clerk at the Federal Reserve Bank.

A devoted woman of faith, she often attended St. Emeric Church and loved being part of that community. In her free time, you would often find her cooking, learning about metaphysics, listening to Hungarian music, tending to her favorite roses and spending time with family.

Her family and friends were the center of her world, and she loved to host parties and get-togethers whenever she could. She will be deeply missed for her warm spirit, helpful attitude, and love for life. Her warm hugs and bright smiles will be cherished by all.

Prayers of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 10:30 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ilona at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 4-8 PM.
