Lane "Skip" Craver

LANE "SKIP" CRAVER age 81, beloved husband for 25 years of the late Mary Ann (née Schwindl); loving father of Stephen (Donna), Edward (Traci), Steven "Paul" Schmitt (Missy), and Michael (Amanda); devoted grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of ten; cherished son of the late Lloyd and Mary (née Brown); dearest brother of Kenneth (Ann), Ella Johnson (Dale), and the late Patsy Retych and Carolyn Long (Ray, deceased); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Skip was born in Ravenna, Ohio on May 11, 1945. He graduated from James A. Garfield High School in Garrettsville and Kent State University. He had a long career as a Mechanical Engineer, working for Picker X-Ray, Allen Bradley, and Stock Equipment, and as a Consultant for Fisher & Associates. He was a member and Trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2243 in Geneva, where he enjoyed many community projects, outreach activities, and lifelong friendships. He was an avid supporter of the Cleveland Browns and loved his John Deere equipment. Throughout his life, he enjoyed gardening and working on home improvement projects. Skip passed away July 20, 2026, and will be remembered as a practical joker and smart aleck.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Skip at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 4-7 PM.

A Memorial Service will immediately follow at the Funeral Home at 7 PM.

Inurnment at a later date in Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chesterland, Ohio.
