Maria Buzdon

MARIA BUZDON, age 86, beloved wife of the late Milan for 52 years; loving mother of Bridget Davis (Jeff), Robert (Laurene) and the late Paula Sieminski (Tony); dear grandmother of Nicole, Jeffrey, Spencer, Andrew, Stewart, and Nathan. Cherished sister of Cecilia Grbac (Ivan), Vlado (Maria), Stanko (Ljiljana) and Pavlo (Maria) and the late Srecko (Katica).

Maria was born on March 10, 1940, to the late Foska and Blaz Buzdon, in Lanisce, Croatia. She married Milan on September 12,1959. Milan and Maria left Croatia and sought out a new life with new opportunities in the United States. The family’s journey led them out of Croatia to Italy for a short stay, and onto the United States where they eventually settled in a community in Cleveland, Ohio. Maria worked tirelessly by Milan’s side making a better life for her family and eventually settling in Kirtland, Ohio. Maria valued the sacrament of marriage, her family, and the Christian faith above all. She enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Paul’s Croatian Church. Maria’s home was filled with patience, love, and kindness. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Maria's love for nurturing things was evident in her beautiful garden, which she lovingly tended for over six decades. She enjoyed sharing the fruits of her garden with family and friends, as well as creating and perfecting her home. Maria's nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Please meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd, Kirtland, OH 44094, at 9 AM.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Maria at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5-8 PM.
