Paul John Cummings

PAUL JOHN CUMMINGS, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2026.

Paul is survived by his sister Heather (Mark) Haberman, brother Mark Cummings, brother Thomas (Brittani) Cummings, nephews Alex, John, and Lincoln, nieces Rachel and Kennedy, and a large, loving family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as housemates, caregivers, his church family, and many friends. He was greeted in Heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his parents Bruce and Joyce Cummings, and his grandparents Armand and Victoria Cesa and many other great aunts and uncles that we were all very close to.

Paul lived a life full of music, joy, and unconditional love. Though he faced developmental challenges, his spirit was boundless, and his presence could light up any room. Music was the centerpiece of his life-whether he was writing original songs under his stage name, Peter Race James, playing his keyboard, or singing his heart out at a talent show. A passionate collector, Paul also found immense happiness in gathering celebrity autographs and showing off his collection every chance he got. One of the highlights of his life was getting the opportunity to meet the endearing Mr. Rogers and touring his studio when he was a young boy.

Above all, Paul will be remembered for his vibrant personality and his signature, infectious laugh-a joyful sound that could be heard a mile away and inevitably caused everyone else to start laughing. Paul introduced himself to everyone he came into contact with and always asked the inevitable question, "Do you like Neil Diamond?"

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Kirtland Christian Fellowship Church, 10001 Chillicothe Rd., Kirtland, OH 44094 on Wednesday, August 26th, at 5:30pm followed by a reception at the church. Food will be provided. A private burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery at a later date.
