Ralph K Johnson

RALPH K. JOHNSON, age 93, Passed September 10, 2026. Ralph was born in Buffalo, New York on January 3, 1933. He was the beloved husband of Marianne (nee Hildisch) Johnson; loving father of David (Rhonda) Johansson and Anders (Ann Mackin) Johnson; devoted grandfather of Kristofer; Uncle of Philip (Joan) Johansson, deceased Niece Anne Dolman(Geof), cherished son of the late Kenneth and Anna (nee Carlson) Johnson; dearest brother of the late Homer Johnson. 

Ralph was a dedicated mechanical engineer whose 43-year career with ABB/Bailey Controls Company reflected both technical excellence and commitment to others. After earning his Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University at Buffalo in 1955, he served as a Senior Application Specialist in the Pulp and Paper Industry, traveling throughout the country and around the world where he built lasting professional relationships. During his career he was credited with 20 publications and 4 patents in the pulp and paper industry.

Ralph was proud to be a lifelong member of ISA (The International Society of Automation), TAPPI (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry), Tau Beta Pi - Engineering Honor Society, and a Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering and Control systems.

He was an active member of Peace Lutheran (formerly known as Bethlehem Lutheran) Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, the Swedish Cultural Society, and the Nobel Monitor 130 VASA Lodge Cleveland.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Ralph to Peace Lutheran Church (3740 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44121).

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 3740 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44121.
