Beloved husband for 43 years of the late Constance Anita (nee Barron) Mingle; loving father of Mary (Kevin) Freeman of Burton, OH, Michael (Rae) Mingle of Freedom Township, OH, Janice (the late William) Breland of Montville, OH, Chris (Kim) Mingle of Kenley, NC, Andrew (Linda) Mingle of Houston, TX, and Laurence (Jenn) Mingle of Aurora, OH; dear longtime partner of Mary Kay Conley; devoted grandfather of Brandon (Lauren) Freeman, Blake (Lindsey) Freeman, Brittany (Greg) Sustar, Bailey (Joe) Gragg, Bryce (Victoria) Freeman, Brett Freeman, Sean Mingle, Samantha (Will) Siefert, Sidney (Sam) DiMeo, Katy (Brian) Corbin, Sarah Breland, William Breland, Benjamin Breland, Nathan Mingle, Isaac Mingle, Gabriel Mingle, Isobelle Mingle, Jake Mingle and Hannah Mingle and great-grandfather of Quinn, Kinsley, Hudson, Parker, Mercedes, Madison, Morgan, Lucas, Lincoln, Braxton, Brooklyn, Desmond and Francesca; dearest brother-in-law of Fred and Janice Herzfeldt; dearest uncle of Patrick Herzfeldt, Anita Salazar, Frederick (JoAnn) Herzfeldt and Kathy (Matt) Varsalona.

Born in Chicago, IL, Ray grew up in Elmhurst, IL. Prior to college he worked as a newspaper delivery driver. He earned a degree as an Electrical Engineer from Illinois Institute of Technology. Member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and Knights of Columbus. Proud veteran of the US Army and member of American Legion post 459 in Burton, OH. Served during the Korean War period at the Nike missile sites surrounding Chicago and played his saxophone in the drum and bugle corps. He was active in Elks lodge and bowling league in Elmhurst. Served as scout leader of BSA Troop 191 in Chesterland, OH. Hobbies included trains and gardening.

His career took him to New York and Ohio where he worked for Nuclear Chicago, Sheller Globe and lastly for Victoreen as an import/export manager. Longtime resident of Chesterland and most recently Montville, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 29, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Parish, 16550 Rock Creek Road, Thompson, Ohio 44086, at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Raymond at THE DeJOHN Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) FRIDAY, August 28, 6-8PM.
