Raymond Gerald Reitz

RAYMOND GERALD REITZ age 76, beloved husband of Susan (neé Meditz) for 41 years; loving father of Erin (Michael) Gaugler, Matthew (Frankie) Reitz, and Jonathan (Lisa) Reitz; devoted grandfather of Abigail, Emma, Molly, Jack, Amelia, Olivia, and Cooper; cherished son of the late Homer and Geraldine (neé Ramsdell); dearest brother of Robert (Debbie) and Debbie (Curcio); dear uncle of many.

Raymond was born on June 6, 1950, in Brockton, Massachusetts. As a teenager, his family moved to the Cleveland area, graduating from North High School in 1968. He dedicated many years as a Pipefitter and Welder to LTV Steel and the local 120 union before earning his retirement and focusing on the things he loved best, like traveling and golfing. As a skilled craftsman, he could fix just about everything and build nearly anything. The greatest joys in Ray's life were the moments spent with family, which included his dog Spanky, traveling with his wife, and spending hours on the greens with club in hand. Ray had a sharp wit about him that could always make you laugh, he was dependable and self-sacrificing, a helping hand to those who needed him. On August 11, 2026, Ray passed away leaving a hole in the hearts of his family and friends that can never be filled.

Please meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills, OH 44040, at 10AM.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ray at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) TUESDAY from 4-8 PM.
